The course will review the basics on how X-rays are generated and how this affects the picture we are seeing. The webinar will examine various X-ray views for the hand and wrist and what each view shows. Normal alignment will be discussed and progress to showing abnormal alignment and discuss how this can impact treatment interventions.

Learning objectives:

  1. Identify how x-ray images are generated
  2. Recognize the systematic methodology for reviewing radiology images
  3. Identify abnormal alignment of the hand, digits, thumb and wrist on radiographs
  4. Recognize how image findings direct clinical intervention
  5. List three reasons for viewing radiologic images prior to treatment of individuals with skeletal injuries
  6. List two differences between adult and pediatric hand/wrist images
  7. Identify the difference between radiologic changes in the osteoarthritic hand compared to the rheumatological arthritic hand
