The following organizations accept medical textbooks for donation to appropriate medical outreach efforts. Please contact them prior to shipping any materials to be sure that your donation can be utilized.*

Better World Books

Better World Books collects and sells books online to fund literacy initiatives worldwide. With more than two million new and used titles in stock, they are a self-sustaining, triple-bottom-line company that creates social, economic and environmental value for all our stakeholders.

Better World Books donations benefit one of four main nonprofit partners: Books for Africa, Room to Read, National Center for Family Literacy and World Fund. To support the important work of one of these groups, please send your books, postage paid, to the address below – making sure to indicate which of our partners you want your donation to benefit by writing their name in the attention line of the package.

Books for Africa

The mission of Books For Africa is to end the book famine in Africa. The organization is helping create a culture of literacy and providing the tools of empowerment to the next generation of parents, teachers and leaders in Africa.

Please ship books “Media” rate from the post office ($19 for every 50 pounds) with your full name and address in the box to:

Bridge to Asia

Bridge to Asia is the largest such program in China, where it sends 500,000 books per year to more than 500 universities. The organization seeks donations of used and new academic and scholarly books, journals, databases and other materials in health and medicine and all fields of arts and sciences. Bridge is a 510(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1987, and donations of books, shipping costs and funds are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Sudan-American Foundation for Education, Inc, (SAFE)

Since 1985, SAFE has delivered more than 275,000 books to 60+ Sudanese libraries, colleges and universities and nongovernmental organizations (NGO's) The organization has sponsored various humanitarian projects for the benefit of displaced persons and children.
