How often do we get requests to vote for something -- our favorite product line, a proxy vote for investments, a new board of trustees, organizational ballots and, of course our local, state and federal legislative ballots? We are so bombarded with requests to vote that this privilege we hold at all levels often becomes a burden or is perceived as a nuisance. Often, what happens is that it never gets done. Unfortunately, when we don't vote, the "few majority" carries the vision. Our position as stakeholders is then lost. The other factor to consider is if a quorum is not met, a vote will not pass. This can be quite frustrating with an uncontested race!
ASHT's viability is essential as we move forward in the ever-changing healthcare arena. We need good leadership to face our current and future challenges. Voting for the ASHT 2016 Board of Directors is now open. So, to answer my question – to vote or not to vote? Yes! We need your vote, and your vote counts! Please exercise your privilege and vote this year’s ASHT board elections!
To vote, please visit ASHT's online election site, and log in using your last name and ASHT member ID number. (This can be found on the Board Elections email sent May 19, or at the top of our bi-weekly Hands On e-blasts.) To view details about each candidate, please click the 'View Biography' link to the right of each photo on the election site.
Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on June 16, 2015.
Eligibility: The voting members of ASHT shall be provided opportunity to elect board members as outlined in the ASHT bylaws: Active, Associate, Lifetime, Founding and Charter members may vote on all elective offices.
All votes are confidential and validated through a third-party system. You may complete the ballot only once. Duplicate entries will not be accepted. In order for the election to be valid, 100 votes must be received.
