NOMINATION INFORMATION
Description
The Nathalie Barr Lectureship Award is among ASHT’s highest honors, recognizing and honoring a current member of ASHT who has made significant contributions to hand and upper extremity rehabilitation that genuinely support the mission, values, and vision of ASHT in the following ways:
- Outstanding research with outcomes evidence to support hand and upper extremity rehabilitation or development and/or refinement of professional theory, clinical methods, and/or techniques used in hand and upper extremity therapy;
- Significant contributions to the evolution of the ASHT/AHTF/HTCC and the profession of hand and upper extremity therapy;
- Contributions to and demonstrated leadership in the specialty of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation and/or healthcare not specifically related to ASHT, but rather more broad contributions to public service and/or awareness of hand and upper extremity therapy.
The nominee must demonstrate evidence of contributions in each of the three categories and have shared their contributions to hand and upper extremity information through publications and/or speaking presentations.
Eligibility
Nominees for the Nathalie Barr Lectureship Award must be a member of ASHT in good standing for at least five years.
Members of the ASHT Board of Directors and the Awards Committee are ineligible for nomination.
Process
The Awards Committee accepts nominations from the membership and follows a structured process to recommend one individual who best meets the award criteria to the ASHT Board of Directors for final approval. The award is presented at the ASHT Annual Meeting where the recipient will be given a plaque (or equivalent award) and a $1,000 honorarium. The award recipient will present their work during the Nathalie Barr Lectureship at the following year’s Annual Meeting. The recipient will also receive complimentary registration to the Annual Meeting at which their lecture is presented.
Frequency
One Nathalie Barr Lectureship Award will be considered every year.
Requirements
- Completed online nomination form. Nominator must write to each applicable category on the nomination form with inclusion of supportive data from the nominee’s CV. Data from the CV may not be repeated in different categories.
- Letter of nomination from an ASHT member in good standing for at least one year establishing why the nominee meets the criteria of the award. This letter is limited to a maximum of 250 words.
- Nominee’s current curriculum vitae
This completed application must be submitted no later than August 20, 2025.
