This course is a continuum of Rehabilitation of the Overhead Athlete – Part 1, and reviews case studies and real-time cases from treating NFL, NBA and MLB players. A brief anatomy review is followed by specific examination tips for the athletic population. Orthotic fabrication and rehabilitation pearls are described and discussed at length. This interactive presentation is beneficial for therapists already familiar with treating head injuries who wish to familiarize themselves with more specific treatment guidelines for the overhead athlete.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:

  1. Understand specific areas of how the overhead athlete’s occupational performance can be affected by hand dysfunction
  2. Differentiate between post-operative rehabilitation protocols for common sport hand injuries
  3. Understand conservative and orthotic treatment algorithms for a variety of trauma diagnoses for the overhead athlete
