Karol Young, OTD, OTR/L, CHT

Karol has been an occupational therapist since 1990 when she graduated from Rush University in Chicago. She became a certified hand therapist in 1997. Currently, Karol works in a small community hospital outside of Asheville, N.C. providing services to both an inpatient and outpatient population with a variety of diagnoses.

In May of 2015 Karol received her clinical doctorate in occupational therapy from Jefferson University, with a certificate in teaching in the digital age. She is passionate about mentoring therapists and wrote the Peer Mentoring Manual which is used in the HTCC mentoring program.

Karol has published two chapters on treating the upper extremity in a COTA Textbook and is an adjunct professor at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord, N.C. She has been involved with ASHT for many years and has held the position of Practice Standards Chair, Education Committee Member and most recently Board Member at Large.
