Beverly Bass, OTD, OTR/L, CHT, CLT

Beverly joined the University of St. Augustine in 2018 as a contributing faculty member. She increased her role at the University and transitioned to a core faculty instructor in 2019. Prior to moving to St. Augustine, Dr. Bass worked with a prominent hand surgeon in Tampa and served as adjunct faculty for Concordia University Wisconsin’s Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Track.

Beverly graduated from the University of St. Augustine with her Master of Occupational Therapy in 2006, and her Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2010. She has experience in a variety of rehabilitation settings, having spent her early career working in travel therapy. The majority of her experience, and her area of expertise, has been in upper extremity rehabilitation and oncology rehabilitation. She earned her Lymphedema Certification in 2010, completed the STAR Clinician certification in oncology rehabilitation in 2012, and achieved her Certification in Hand Therapy in 2016. She is passionate about providing evidence informed, client centered care and believes in empowering her patients to actively participate in their own rehabilitation process.

Dr. Bass enjoys contributing to her profession and has presented both locally and nationally on upper extremity rehabilitation topics. She has contributed to book chapters, book edits, and blogs regarding hand therapy topics. She is an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists, having volunteered for the Research Division since 2011. She has been a Journal Club moderator for almost 10 years and served as the Journal Club Chair from 2016 to 2019. She received ASHT’s Outstanding Service Award in 2016 and 2018, and was featured in the ASHT Times Member Spotlight in 2016.
