NOMINATION INFORMATION
Description
The Honorary Membership Award honors individuals other than Certified Hand Therapists who have made significant contributions to ASHT and the specialty of hand and upper extremity therapy through education, advocacy, research, public service, marketing, and promotion of the ASHT’s mission, vision, and values. Recipients of this award are recognized nationally and/or internationally for their influence and the significance of their achievements and have provided notable service to the specialty of hand and upper extremity therapy and the ASHT.
Eligibility
Nominees for the Honorary Membership Award are professionals other than Certified Hand Therapists who have made significant contributions to hand and upper extremity rehabilitation and the ASHT. The individual may be an Affiliate or Associate member of the ASHT; however, membership in the Society is not required for nomination.
Members of the ASHT Board of Directors and the Awards Committee are ineligible for nomination.
Process
The Awards Committee accepts nominees from the membership and selects the award winner through a structured process, presenting a non-monetary honor (plaque or equivalent award) at the ASHT Annual Meeting.
Frequency
One Honorary Membership Award will be considered every year.
Requirements
- Completed online nomination form. Nominator must write to each applicable category on the nomination form with inclusion of supportive data from the nominee’s CV. Data from the CV may not be repeated in different categories.
- Letter of nomination from an ASHT member in good standing for at least one year establishing why the nominee meets the criteria of the award. The length of the letter is limited to a maximum of 250 words.
- Nominee’s current curriculum vitae.
This completed application must be submitted no later than August 20, 2025
