Webinar Title: WriStable®: A Simple Solution to a Complex Problem
Presenter:
Judy Colditz, OT/L, CHT, FAOTA
Webinar Description:
WriStable® Wrist Brace: The WriStable® is a premium orthosis made in the US, designed by Judy Colditz, OT/L, CHT, FAOTA, the design consultant for the Push® MetaGrip®, specifically for pain when weight-bearing, scapholunate instability, dorsal abutment, general wrist hypermobility and more. It delivers targeted, precise wrist support and pain relief while allowing functional range of motion. It is the only bracing solution specifically designed for radial-sided wrist problems and especially the painful loaded wrist. We are aware of no other braces designed to address radial-sided wrist problems while still allowing functional motion.
The WriStable® is specially designed for scapholunate instability, dorsal abutment/impingement, hypermobility, pain at end range of motion, especially when loaded, and wrist arthritis.
The WriStable® uses the rationale of “carpal containment” enhanced proprioception, and pain control with skin stimulation to allow functional wrist range of motion without pain/reduced pain. Field study results and patient evaluation are current level of evidence.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- List reasons for wrist pain
- Discuss current solutions for wrist pain
- Describe the biomechanical rationale for the WriStable® brace
- Demonstrate ability to correctly size and apply the WriStable® brace
- List indications and contraindications for the use of the WriStable® brace
