Webinar description:
This webinar will examine prioritization of rehabilitation after complex upper extremity injuries involving multiple anatomical structures. Attendees will learn how to protect critical structures while maximizing outcomes for patients with replantations. This webinar will also cover principles of tissue healing, tensile strength of structures as they heal, clinical reasoning when tissue healing rates vary and the evidence which guides this clinical reasoning.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify how to protect boney, nerve, skin, vascular, and tendinous structures after complex injuries.
  2. Identify factors affecting wound healing and means to promote a healthy wound environment.
  3. Recognize tensile strength of tendon repairs, force created by exercise and how this affects progression of rehabilitation.
  4. Identify how to prioritize structures which need to be protected and those that need to move to achieve maximum function.
