Webinar Title: Managing the Frozen Shoulder
Presenter: Ann Porretto-Loehrke, PT, DPT, CHT, COMT, CMTPT
Webinar Description:
Frozen shoulder is a condition we commonly see in the clinic. Discover key information improve your efficiency with evaluation and treating this population! This webinar covers the two types of adhesive capsulitis and how to develop an appropriate plan of care. Gain knowledge and skills to perform joint mobilization techniques to address glenohumeral joint limitations to 90 degrees, as well as techniques to restore end-range elevation. This webinar will also provide a demonstration of scapular taping to promote scapulohumeral dissociation, as well as evidence-supported research for rotator cuff and scapular stabilizer strengthening for this condition. This is one you’ll not want to miss!
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Describe the history and clinical presentation of adhesive capsulitis
- Implement passive testing for the glenohumeral joint (GHJ) to determine if a capsular pattern is present
- Perform joint mobilization techniques to facilitate shoulder abduction and flexion to 90 degrees
- Apply joint-specific testing and treatment techniques to address limitations with end-range elevation at the GHJ
- Apply scapular taping techniques to promote scapulohumeral dissociation
- Implement scapular stabilizer and rotator cuff strengthening for secondary adhesive capsulitis to optimize results
