Webinar Description: This webinar explores the principles and clinical application of dynamic components used in upper extremity mobilization orthoses, including outriggers such as our Orfitubes, Isoforce, springs and coils that apply controlled, directional force to promote joint motion. Participants will gain knowledge about designing and fabricating dynamic orthoses using these components to address common clinical scenarios such as joint stiffness, contractures and limited range of motion following injury or surgery.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
- Identify the biomechanical principles and clinical indications for incorporating dynamic components into upper extremity orthoses.
- Differentiate between commonly used dynamic components and identify appropriate applications based on patient diagnosis and treatment goals.
- Recognize key design features, force vectors, and adjustment techniques that contribute to effective dynamic orthosis function.
- Provide resources for education in orthotic fabrication and how to obtain materials.

With 26 years of experience as an occupational therapist, Jenna Millman brings extensive clinical expertise and educational leadership to orthotic fabrication training. She has dedicated 19 years to specialized hand therapy in Baltimore.
Currently serving as a Product and Education Specialist at Orfit Industries, Jenna leads national and international education initiatives across the US and Canada, delivering specialized training on upper extremity orthotic fabrication techniques for diverse clinical settings.
Jenna holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Towson University, Advanced Certification in Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation from Drexel University, and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her expertise spans custom orthotic fabrication, advanced upper extremity orthopedics, clinical education, and evidence-based practice implementation.
