The webinar will describe the 12 essential hand functions related to traumatic injuries to the hand. This information is essential for traumatic injuries leading to significant stiffness or amputation. It will also discuss pre-prosthetic training using orthoses to discuss functional options with a prosthetist.

  • Differentiate between functional grasps and identify treatment ideas to improve functional grasp.
  • Differentiate between translation, shifting and rotation of objects in the hand.
  • Identify the appropriate use of orthoses to prepare the patient for prosthetic use.
