Review of the anatomy of the nervous system, nerve injuries, nerve repair options, the anatomy of the brachial plexus, and a review of the spinal nerves of the arm, including pathways and classic lesions associated with the nerve.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Be able to name 4 potential sympathetic changes with nerve injury.
  2. Be able to describe the difference in prognosis for a 2nd vs. 4th degree nerve injury.
  3. Be able to describe the general difference in presentation of a trunk lesion vs. a spinal nerve lesion.
  4. Be able to describe the clinical presentation of a median nerve compression at the tunnel vs. at the pronator.

Anatomy and Kinesiology of the Shoulder and Elbow

Course Description:
This recorded webinar will review the anatomy of the shoulder, elbow and forearm. Pictures from cadaver dissections will be complemented with images of muscles. This review will include the biomechanics of the shoulder girdle with detailed description of scapular and glenohumeral muscular force couples.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants to identify muscle actions of shoulder girdle muscles
  2. Participants to recognize the scapula and gleno-humeral force couple muscles
  3. Participants to understand the biomechanical movements of the humerus, scapula, and clavicle
  4. Participants to recognize the ligaments the clavicle
  5. Participants to identify capsular restraints for differing glenohumeral positions
