The 2015 ASHT Board of Directors achieved many strategic objectives, including those outlined in the Annual Report, the completion of Clinical Assessment Recommendations, 3rd Edition and initiation of the first International Visitor Grant. ASHT also saw substantial growth in the participation of our educational products from both members and non-members. ASHT also released a number of educational resources for the public to explain the role of hand therapy, including blogs and condition-specific handouts. None of this could be accomplished without the dedication of our countless division and committee volunteers working alongside the ASHT headquarters staff.
It has been my honor to serve as the 37th president of ASHT in 2015. As I bid you farewell, rest assured that great things are ahead for ASHT to promote excellence in hand therapy through education, research and practice. In 2016, ASHT will launch a new, mobile-friendly website. The Annual Meeting will be held in Washington, DC, providing the opportunity for attendees to participate in Capitol Hill Day with AOTA to promote the value of hand therapy to legislators across the United States.
I hope that each of you is enjoying the holiday season with family and friends. I wish all of you a happy and healthy New Year!
