Mia Erickson, PT, CHT, EdD is a Professor and the Assistant Director of the Physical Therapy Program at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She has been practicing in the field of hand therapy for 24 years and has taught upper extremity content to hundreds of entry-level students and practicing therapists. She received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from West Virginia University and a physical therapy degree from the University of Indianapolis. Dr. Erickson has also published over 20 peer-reviewed articles including the Clinical Practice Guideline on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome published in 2019. Dr. Erickson has provided numerous lectures on evidence-based rehabilitation and other topics related to translating research evidence into clinical practice at the national level. She is a 2020 recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and a 2022 recipient of an Outstanding Service Award from the Academy of Hand and Upper Extremity Physical Therapy of the APTA. Dr. Erickson is a member of the publications committee for the IFSHT.
