The American Hand Therapy Foundation, the American Society of Hand Therapists and the Hand Therapy Certification Commission are offering 10 travel grants to eligible applicants to help them attend the IFSSH-IFSHT 2025 Triennial Congress.
Amount: $3,000 USD per recipient
Procedures
- Submit an application via the online submission portal by 1 March 2024 (at midnight, CET time zone). Successful candidates will be informed by the last week of March 2024.
- Provide a copy of their diploma as an occupational or physical therapist-physiotherapist.
- Submit one letter of recommendation from a mentor or an employer on official letterhead.
- Obtain a VISA at least six months prior to travel to the United States

Conditions of Travel Award
- Recipients must attend the full 2025 IFSSH-IFSHT Triennial Congress in Washington, DC USA. Complimentary registration will be provided, courtesy of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
- Recipients will be responsible for securing their visas for travel. Funds will not be disbursed until recipients have submitted proof of valid visa.
- Recipients agree to cooperate with any audit or review related to the use of grant funds, providing additional documentation or information as requested.
- Recipients acknowledge that the grant is awarded on the condition that any unused funds will be returned promptly and used exclusively for the approved purposes.
- Recipients will provide a brief written report (with appropriate photos or videos) outlining the benefits to you from participation in the 2025 Triennial Congress, which may be used by the AHTF, ASHT or HTCC on its respective websites, social media and publications.
- Acknowledge AHTF-ASHT-HTCC financial support on Congress papers, posters and presentation slides.
Grant Eligibility
- Applicants with varying years of experience are encouraged to apply, but priority is given to candidates with three years of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation clinical experience.
- Applicants must have completed their therapist training and be early in their therapist career (preferably 45 years of age or below)
- Ideal candidates have opportunities to teach other therapists and/or students.
- Applicants must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Applicants from any nationality are welcome to apply but priority is given to applicants from these developing countries.
