When I first considered serving on the ASHT Board of Directors, I had a mix of excitement and hesitation. Would I have the time? Could I really make a difference? Looking back, I can confidently say it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It shaped me as a leader, connected me with inspiring peers and deepened my passion for our field.

Now, it’s your turn. ASHT needs passionate, dedicated individuals like you to help shape the future of hand and upper extremity therapy. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, now is the perfect time! Our call for nominations is open now through March 28.

Why Join the ASHT Board?
ASHT thrives because of members like you — clinicians, educators and researchers who bring unique perspectives and expertise. Being on the board isn’t just about giving back; it’s also about personal and professional growth. Board service is an opportunity to:

  • Influence the direction of ASHT: Your insights and expertise can shape policies, programs and initiatives that benefit our specialty.
  • Enhance your leadership skills: Gain valuable experience in strategic planning, governance and team leadership.
  • Expand Your professional network: Build relationships with industry leaders, researchers and clinicians who share your passion for hand and upper extremity therapy.
  • Give back to the Specialty: Your contributions will help ASHT continue its mission of advancing hand therapy and supporting members at all career stages.
  • Make an impact: Your voice matters, and your contributions will help drive meaningful change.

Who Should Apply?
If you are passionate about making an impact, I encourage you to nominate yourself or a colleague. ASHT values diverse perspectives, and board service is an opportunity to bring fresh ideas and insights to our leadership team.
