Preview: 2021 Educational Offerings

Posted by Hannah Gift, OTR/L, CHT, COMT UE, CEAS 12/28/2020

The year 2020 helped us explore the value of connecting virtually. We enjoyed virtual happy hours, gained more experience offering therapy through telehealth and learned how to create interactive educational offerings virtually. ASHT's first virtual conference was a huge success and attendees have the opportunity to enjoy the lectures until October 2021. The virtual Hand Therapy Review Course offers the benefits of our live course, but allows the participant to view at their own pace, even multiple times, and provides a live opportunity to ask questions from the faculty. For the shorter education needs, the webinar library continues to grow.

We have some new offerings to look for in 2021. A virtual Hands On Orthotics course is in the works and will offer fabrication instructions and clinical pearls for therapists at all levels. An ASHT podcast is in development. We are also exploring ways to grow our content for pediatric hand therapists.

We are starting 2021 by growing our virtual offerings, but we are very excited for the potential for live events later in the year. We will continue to focus on member safety, but do know we are very excited to connect and network in person when we can!  When the time comes, be ready for new live offerings for our Education on Tour traveling course, new locations for Hands On Orthotics and Hand Therapy Review Courses and (hopefully!) our 2021 Annual Meeting in St. Louis!

Happy holidays! We look forward to learning with you in 2021!
