2019 Hand Therapy Review Course
The Hand Therapy Review Course provides a comprehensive, in-depth look at evaluation and intervention processes typically seen in upper extremity rehabilitation. This is an excellent precursor for anyone who plans on taking the Hand Therapy Certification Exam.
Comments from past attendees:
“Very comprehensive. Good review of anatomy and more specific conditions. I like whenever they give clinical examples because it makes me remember things more, especially for things I don’t see. Made me feel more confident taking the CHT Exam than I did before the course.”
Melissa Mara, OTR/L- 2018 St. Louis Course
“I felt like a received an extra benefit or this particular course because these presenters were so knowledgeable. I was on the edge of my seat trying to write down a lot of what Hannah told me – what a wealth of knowledge she has to share! The cadaver lab was amazing!”
Kaiti Marinangeli, PT, DPT, CHT- 2018 St. Louis Course
“All instructors were well prepared with clear and comprehensive content. Very clear that they had invested considerable time into reviewing content. Lectures were engaging and provided meaningful information.”
Adele Ouegnin, OTD- 2018 St Louis Course
“Very informative and relevant information. Great review; covered so much information.”
Bonnie Chilton, OTR/L- 2018 St Louis Course
“Very good material presented with good presenters who made the material interesting. Also, good recommendations to improve our treatment in the clinic! The cadaver course is also very helpful to make everything "click!”

UE Institute Online Study Group
The UE Institute is one ASHT’s newer education platforms, launched in late 2018. This program is free to ASHT members and is an excellent resource for therapists with 0-3 years of experience or those looking for possible career changes to practice in the specialty area of hand/upper extremity rehabilitation. The program was developed to provide monthly assignments, online educational webinars and follow-up discussions on the e-Community. This program can also offer a framework of study for mentoring pairs.
Member comments:
“The structure of the online courses assists me with the study process. The volume of information is much more easily approached with a plan provided by experienced practitioners and augmented with their clinical pearls.”
Jan Milstead, OTR
“The combination of required resources, slides for the course and the live webinar is perfect; really helps me to focus and organize the way that I'm learning about hand therapy.”
Lee Ann Sanchez, MS, OTR/L
