In April, we celebrate national Occupational Therapy Month by showcasing the platform, "Occupational Therapy: Living Life To Its Fullest.™” The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) dedicates this month to bring awareness to the profession. Occupational therapist is a profession that helps individuals of all ages to participate in everyday activities that are meaningful to them. The profession focuses on a holistic treatment approach that is client-centered and evidenced-based.
OT Month also focuses on advocacy for the profession. By sharing the benefits of OT on social media, writing in OT Connections, conducting research, becoming involved in community service activities, attending conferences and staying up to date on current congressional affairs, it will help bring awareness to the profession. Being thankful and reflecting on what occupational therapists have accomplished this year is another important focus of OT Month. Occupational therapists are grateful for those who aid in the ability to provide OT services and honor clients that have made an impact on our life. Without the help of other professions, we would not be able to provide the best care for our clients.
